Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The New England Free jacks re-signed Tevita Sole for the second year of a three-year contract which brings him through the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old loosehead/tighthead prop (24 in January) is 6’0″ and 265 lbs. Tevita played 360 minutes in 11 matches, starting 2, for the Free jacks in 2022. Tevita is from Nuku ‘alofa, Tonga, and attended Tonga College’Atele. Old Glory DC signed Kyle Stewart for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old tighthead/loosehead prop (26 in March) is 6’0″ and 265 lbs. Kyle played 912 minutes in 16 matches, starting 14 in 2022 for Old Glory. Kyle played age-grade rugby with Taranaki, playing in the prestigious Jock Hobbs Memorial U19 Tournament in the top division for the Graham Mourie Cup in 2016. Nate played 1101 minutes in 16 matches, starting 14, and was the team’s captain for most of the season. He has made 51 MLR appearances since the team entered the league in 2019. Charlie played 822 minutes in 16 matches, starting 11 for Rugby New York in 2022. He played 522 minutes in 15 matches, starting 7, during the 2021 MLR season. He then was selected for the USA Selects tour which played two matches against Uruguay A. Charlie joined New York after the 2020 MLR season began and started two matches. The 23-year-old flanker/No.8 (24 in March) is from Limerick, Ireland, and has a father from the U.S. Fintan played 406 minutes in 15 matches, starting 4, and scored one try for Old Glory in 2022.
