USA Rugby’s Head Coach JD Stephenson will lead a team of 12 athletes to the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Men’s Sevens team. The Games will take place in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11. The PanAm Games come after the USA men qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, reached a No. 2 World Ranking and won seven tournament medals. The competition in Lima will help develop players for the demands of senior international competition as the Olympic year approaches. USA Rugby announced Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri as the location for the 2019 Club 7s National Championship on August 10-11. Qualifying tournaments will begin June 29th in San Francisco and Philadelphia. The Kansas City Blues, who twice were National Runners-Up in this competition, supported the bid along with Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City. They are the fourth Midwest city to host the event since its inception in 1985. Each championship match will be featured live of FloRugby. USA Rugby Release As part of its commitment to deliver a robust and inclusive talent identification and verification system, USA Rugby will present an annual Women’s National Development Invitational Tournament (NDIT) in sevens featuring academy and invitational sides as well as the Collegiate All-Americans (WCAA). The USA Men’s Falcons the Sudamerica Rugby Sevens tour with a fifth-place finish at the Punta del Este in Uruguay on Jan. 5-6 and a ninth-place finish at the Viña del Mar in Chile on Jan 12-13.
