Seattle Seawolves Signs Karl Keane

The Seattle Seawolves signed former Saint Mary’s Gael and Pacific Northwest product, Karl Keane through the 2025 season. The 21-year-old scrumhalf is 6’0″ and 180 lbs.

Karl was born in Dublin, Ireland, and played for Dublin’s Malahide Rugby Club before moving to Seattle at the age of 10.  He played with Rugby Washington’s Eastside Lions and the Washington Loggers before attending Saint Mary’s College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.

Though eligible for the 2022 Collegiate Draft, Keane was granted an exemption under the league’s Homegrown Player Policy.

He has represented the USA at every age grade level from u16 to u23. He also played for the USA Falcons in their 2022 South American tour against Chile and Brazil.  In 2022 he also helped the Gaels reach the national Division 1A final opposite West Point.

He has been a High School and Collegiate All-America, as well as playing for the USA Falcons. In 2021 he was a member of the Seawolves training squad and in 2023 and beyond, is a member of the senior roster.
