Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

Midwest Rugby Football Union Release Men’s Thunderbird Program Player Pool CHICAGO (Sept. 17, 2021) – The Midwest Rugby Football Union (MRFU) announced its men’s player pool for the 2021-2022 competitive cycle today. The pool was selected by the Thunderbird Coaching staff and will assemble on Oct. 2, 2021, in Chicago. Houston SaberCats Release The Houston SaberCats have hired Pote Human as the new head coach. Human joins Heyneke Meyer as the ‘Cats look to be bigger, faster, and stronger in 2022. Human has spent two decades as a professional coach, most notably with the Bulls of Super Rugby and Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup in South Africa. Major League Rugby held its 2021 draft on Wednesday, August 18, which was aired on Fox Sports 2 and on The Rugby Network on August 19. News broke on August 18 about trades that occurred with the league posting an updated round-by-round draft list. During the 2020 Supplemental draft, Rugby United New York, traded D’Montae Noble to Old Glory DC for their first-round pick (#6) in the 2021 MLR Collegiate Draft.
