Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

Moses is from Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended Mesa Ridge High School, graduating in 2018. He attended Galashiels Academy and later Edinburgh’s Telford College. He played youth rugby with Gala RFC and then representative rugby Under-16s and Under-18s with Border Reviers. He is from Montevideo, Uruguay and attended St. Catherine’s School and Instituto Crandon. He also attended Universidad de La Empresa. The Seattle Seawolves traveled to San Francisco and defeated San Francisco Golden Gate 45-0 on Saturday, January 5 at Ray Sheeran Field on Treasure Island. Both teams will open their regular season at the end of January with Golden Gate opening their Pacific Rugby Premiership season on January 27, and the Seawolves opening defense of their 2018 title against the Glendale Raptors on January 27. The Utah Warriors have announced their coaching staff for the 2019 Major League Rugby season and a pathway from youth rugby to playing at the professional level. Coaching a professional team is a challenge and Utah Warriors Head Coach Alf Daniels has reflected on the team’s last season’s performance and now looks for them to improve on a semi-final playoff appearance. The 26-year-old, 6’1″, 231 lb. prop has made 54 appearances for the Los Teros XVs, 49 of them against National team sides. Mateo plays club rugby for Los Cuervos and has played for Uruguay A, most recently in the 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge.
