Chicago Hounds Adds Willis Goodwin

The Chicago Hounds signed Willis Goodwin for the remainder of the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old fullback /wing is 5’10” and 165 lbs.

Willis was signed by the New England Free Jacks for 2023, but did not play. He played for the Chicago Hounds Academy before signing a MLR contract.

Willis is from Arlington Heights, Illinois. He attended Rolling Meadows High School where he played football, and was an All-Mid Suburban League and All-Area in football. He played rugby with the Arlington Stallions Rugby Club from middle to high school.

He attended John Carroll University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics. He played rugby and was on track and field team. In 2021 he was honored as an All-OAC in the triple jump, long jump, and the 4x 200-meter relay. While in college, he also played with the Cleveland Rovers Rugby Club. 

Willis played for the Chicago Lions Sevens Team at the 2020 Los Angeles Invitational and for the team at USA Club Sevens Nationals.

In 2022 he toured Uruguay with the USA Falcons.
