Utah Warriors Obtains Fatongia Paea

The Utah Warriors obtained Fatongia Paea in a trade with the Houston SaberCats in exchange for 2024 salary cap considerations.  The 25-year-old loosehead prop is 6’0″ and 275 lbs.

Fatongia was signed by the Houston saberCats in 2023 but did not play during the regular season.

Fatongia is from Nuku’alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga, and lives in Auckland, New Zealand. He graduated from Sacred Heart College in Auckland and attended Marist University. He played club rugby for PUR Pakuranga from 2018 to 2020 and for Marist Rugby Club.

In 2020 he played in the Mitre 10 Cup for Auckland in one match, before switching to North Harbour for the Bunnings National Provincial Championship in 2021. There he also played in one match, but in 2022 he played 371 minutes in 7 matches, starting 6. In 2023 he played 53 minutes in 2 matches and scored one try.
