Old Glory DC Signs Axel Muller

Old Glory DC signed Alex Müller Aranda for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old wing (30 in November) is 6’1″ and 207 lbs.

Alex was born in Mendoza, Argentina, but lived in Ahwatukee, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona between the ages of 9 and 17 and has a U.S. passport. He was a decathlete and played American football and rugby. According to an article by American Rugby News, he would like to represent the United States in rugby 15s, but this would require Olympic and World Rugby approval.

Alex represented Argentina U20s at the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship and then the Argentina 7s from 2013 through 2016. He also represented Argentina at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and also played for Argentina XV that year.

He decided to play rugby in France, much to the dismay of the Argentina Rugby Union. During the 2016-2017 season, he played in the French Top 14 for Toulon. In 2017-2018 he played for Oyonnax Rugby, and then for CA Brive from 2018-2023. He joined CA Pérgueux Dordogne for the 2023-2024 season but has since signed with Old Glory DC for the 2024 MLR season.
