San Diego Legion Re-Signs Siaosi Mahoni

San Diego Legion signed Siaosi Mahoni for a second Major League Rugby season. He is 21-years-old, 6″8″ and 295 lbs.

Siaosi Mahoni is from East Palo Alto, California and is of Tongan descent. He went to Woodside High School where he played basketball and football, graduating in 2015. He then went to Sacred Heart College.

Siaosi toured with the USA Rugby Boys High School All-Americans to Argentina in 2013 and to Portugal in 2014. He was also on the Men’s Junior All-Americans that played in the 2014 World Rugby Junior Trophy competition.

He played professionally for the San Diego Breakers in 2016. He played club rugby with the EPA Razorbacks and in 2017 with Life West in the 2017 California Cup. Then it was off to France to join Narbonne in the France ProD2 League.

Siaosi played with the USA Rugby Selects in the Americas Pacific Challenge in 2016 and for the Eagles in the Americas Rugby Championship in 2017. He debuted against Canada on February 18 in Vancouver and played against Chile in Santiago the following week.

Siaso re-joins the San Diego Legion and the team is looking forward to his presence in 2019. “At 2nd row, Mahoni enjoys long runs across the gain line, swatting away defenders with impunity, and stealing lineouts in his spare time. Welcome back Siaosi!”
