San Diego Legion Re-Signs Drew Gaffney

San Diego Legion signed Drew Gaffney for a second Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old back row is 6’1″ and 219 lbs.

Drew is a San Diego native and attended Cathedral Catholic High School where he played football, baseball and rugby. He played for the USA Under-17s on their tour to England in 2012 and for the San Diego Mustangs Under-19s National Tournament earning Man of the Match honors.

Drew attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2013-2017, helping the team beat BYU in the 2016 Varsity Cup Final.

In 2018 Drew played for Olympic Club in the Pacific Rugby Premiership and then joined the San Diego Legion for the inaugural Major League Rugby season.

Drew was a force around the pitch for the Legion and will do so again in 2019.
