Toronto Arrows Signs Kolby Francis

The Toronto Arrows signed Kolby Francis for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Kolby is from Brantford, Ontario and plays back row and lock. He is 22-years-old, 6’5″, and 250 pounds.

Kolby attended St. John’s College and then the University of Guelph from 2015-2019, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree. He will be attending Guelph while playing for the Arrows and is expected to graudate in December, 2019. He played to the Guelph Gryphons and in 2017 was named to the Canadian University Men’s All-Stars, who played against the USA Collegiate All-Stars.

Kolby has progressed through the Rugby Ontario age-grade system playing for the Junior Blues Under-18s, the Under-19s, and debuted for the Ontario Blues in the Canadian Rugby Championship in 2017 against the Atlantic Rock. He also played for the Blues in 2018.

During the Summer, Kolby plays for the Brantford Harlequins. In 2018, the team advanced to the McCormick Cup Final.

In 2018 Kolby played professionally for the Arrows, playing in all their exhibition matches. He debuted in January against the Houston SaberCats.

Kolby now resumes playing with the Arrows as the team plays their first Major League Rugby season as a member in 2019. Kolby will provide the team flexibility in playing either lock or in the back row.
