Rugby Football Club Los Angeles signed Sam Walsh for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old flyhalf is 5’11” and 200 lbs.
Sam was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but grew up in Hong Kong. He attended Scots College and played rugby at the school and for Clearwater Bay.
He attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2018 through his graduation in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He played varsity rugby and was a Rudy Scholz nominee.
Sam joined the USA Sevens team, training full-time at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in 2022, and made his rugby sevens debut against Japan at the Hong Kong Sevens in 2022.
Sam also played rugby with the USA Falcons.
