Rugby ATL Re-Signs Isaac Bales

Rugby ATL re-signed Isaac Bales for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old Hooker is 5’9” and 245 lbs.

Isaac hoped his performance with the Academy team, Pathway 404, would prepare him for the 2022 MLR season, however, a knee injury forced him to focus on his recovery and the 2023 season. After returning to health, he played rugby with the Rugby ATL Academy in the Fall 2022 American Rugby Premiership season.

Isaac attended Glenwood Community School and was the captain of its rugby club. He was also the MVP of the Lindenwood High School tournament, captain of the USA Rugby South Age Grade team, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy captain, Nebraska Selects captain, and rated #4 as a hooker in high school.

He attended the University of Louisville graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Technology/ Engineering. Rugby accolades continued with honors as Freshman of the Year D1 player, 2018 and 2019 MAC First team All-Conference, and the 6th ranked D1AA Hooker throughout his collegiate career. He also was the captain of USA Rugby South again in 2022.

Rugby ATL thought Isaac would have a bright future with the team and expected him to contribute when healthy.
