John is from Lorton, Virginia, and attended South County High School. He wrestled for three years and played rugby with South County Youth/West End Rugby. The team advanced to the Rugby Virginia Final three times, winning in 2015 and winning the National Tier II Championship in 2016.

John attended Old Dominion University from 2016-to 2020, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, as well as playing with the rugby team. He also played with NOVA Rugby at the USA Club Sevens Nationals and rugby XVs after graduation.

In Summer 2021 he attended the USA U23 Pathway Camp, a 9 week camp at Glendale, Colorado, and played in the XV Series this Fall for the USA U23 Rugby Academy.

John has been training with Old Glory, has played for Old Glory U23s against the Connecticut U23s in December, and hopes to be able to contribute to the senior team in 2022.
