The Miami Sharks signed Uruguayan Reinaldo Piussi Mendoza for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old loosehead prop is 6’4″ and 310 lbs.
Reinaldo, who is from Montevideo, Uruguay, played for the Carrasco Polo Club. He moved to France to join Oyonnax Espoirs from 2018 to 2020 before returning to Uruguay to enter the Uruguayan High-Performance system.
He played 34 minutes in 2 matches for Peñarol in Super Rugby Americas in 2023. He then played for Uruguay in the 2023 Rugby World Cup against France and Namibia. He made his debut for the National Team against Tonga in 2022 and has six caps.
