Austin Gilgronis Adds Alex Rees

The Austin Gilgronis added Alex Rees for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old flyhalf is 5’10” and 165 lbs.

Alex is an Austin, Texas native and attended Westlake High School. He played football, soccer, and rugby while at Westlake and helped the rugby team win the 2014 State Championship.

He went to the University of Arkansas from 2014-2019 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and also playing on the university rugby team. Alex also played rugby sevens for the Austin Huns and has played XVs for the team since graduating.

Alex also is a commentator and journalist to FloRugby and now adds being a professional rugby player for the Austin Gilgronis to his resume. He played in one preseason match for the team and is on the opening day roster in the reserves.
