Austin Herd re-signed Reece Czarnecki for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old wing is 5’11” and 195 lbs.
Reece has earned 18 caps for the team since 2018. In 2019 he played 669 minutes in 14 matches and scored one try. He carried 22 times for 235 meters, made 2 linebreaks, 3 offloads, kicked twice for 62 meters and made 43 tackles.
Reece is from Wyoming, Michigan and was among a number of recent college graduates that signed with the team in 2018 and finished in 5th place in the MLR that year.
Czarnecki went to West Catholic High School and after graduation in 2011, went to Davenport University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Management in 2015. He then attended graduate school there in 2016-2017.
While at Davenport University, Czarnecki played rugby as a wing and was a USA Rugby Collegiate Sevens All-Americans in 2013-2014, as well as being selected to the 2013 Collegiate Sevens National Championship All-Tournament team. In 2017 he was selected to the second team Sevens All-Americans. In August 2017 he played at the Rugbytown Sevens for the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans. In rugby 15s, he was selected as an April 2015, D1A Rugby co-player of the week.
Reece also played for the Austin Blacks in 2017and looks forward to making a difference with Austin Herd again in 2020. #jointheherd
