Austin Herd Signs Skyler Adams

Austin Herd signed Skyler Adams for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old prop is 6’1″ and 254 lbs.

Skyler is from Black Forest, Colorado and attended Pine Creek High school from 2007-2011. He began playing rugby at age 16 with Colorado Grizzlies RFC. He played for Colorado All-Star U19s and won Colorado Rugby State Championships in 2010 and in 2011.

He attended Lindenwood University from 2011-2012 and then joined the Glendale Raptors Division 1 side while attending Pikes Peak Community College from 2012-2013.

He then transferred to American International College in 2013 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History in 2017. While playing D1A Rugby at AIC, he was the team’s captain for three years.

In 2017 Sky moved to Christchurch, New Zealand and trained with the BNZ Crusaders International High-Performance Academy team and also played with Marist Albion Rugby Club. In 2019 he played for New Brighton Rugby Club.

Austin Herd Comments

“I’m stoked for the opportunity to help the Austin Herd contend for a championship,” said Adams. “If I can grow my game and also grow the sport in Texas and the United States, then it’ll be a job well done.”

“Skyler comes highly recommended from the Crusaders Academy and Josh Macy with Lindenwood,” said Andrew Suniula. “It’ll be good to see how he’s developed overseas when we get the team here in a couple of weeks.”

Skyler is hungry to establish himself as a multi-tooled young prop for the Austin Herd.

Welcome to the Herd, Skyler Adams! #jointheherd
