Rugby ATL signed Duncan Van Schalkwyk for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old flyhalf is 5’9″ and 175 lbs.
Duncan is from Pretoria, South Africa and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with his family in 2005. He attended Providence High and played rugby with the Charlotte Tigers, and was honored by North Carolina Youth Rugby Union on their Wall of Stars in 2015.
Duncan went to Life University from 2014-2019 and was a three-time National Champion and a standout in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship. He was a first team All-American, played with the USA Under-20s in the World Junior Trophy in 2016 and was part of the Eagles 2019 Americas Rugby Championship touring roster. He is also part of Gary Gold’s Eagles player pool for the 2019 Pacific Nations Cup this summer with hopes of earning his first international cap.
