Kyle Baillie Joins PRO Rugby Ohio Team

“PRO Rugby is pleased to announce the signing of Kyle Baillie to play for Ohio in the inaugural 2016 PRO Rugby season. Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Baillie is one of the rising stars of Canadian rugby, playing club rugby for St. Albert and the Castaway Wanderers before graduating to the Atlantic Rock provincial team. A 24-year old lock forward who can also cover the backrow, Baillie made his senior Canada debut in 2016.”
Kyle Baillie is the fifth Canadaian announced that has joined PRO Rugby. Baillie made his international debut coming off the bench against the USA Eagles in The 2016 Americas Rugby Championship. He appeared in three additional matches, starting against Chile and an uncapped Argentina XV.
Other Canadians in PRO Rugby include Ray Barkwill in Sacramento, Nick Blevins in San Francisco, Phil Mackenzie and Hubert Buydens in San Diego. It is expected that prop Jake Ilnicki will also be joining the San Diego team soon.
In addition to Baillie, other international players for the Ohio team include Italy A flanker Filippo Ferrarini, former New Zealand All Black prop Jamie Mackintosh and Chilean age group back row Sebastian Kalm.
Ohio opens there season at Denver on April 17th.
