“BOSTON- The Boston Irish Wolfhounds would like to welcome Richard Ashfield to its coaching staff. Coach Ashfield will be head coach for the American Rugby Premiership side starting Spring 2016. The club is very excited as Coach Ashfield brings a wealth of experience and expertise. His coaching career and administrative involvement in rugby dates back to his time in Ireland as Youth Development Office for both Lisburn RFC and IRFU Ulster’s branch. More recently, Coach Ashfield was head coach of Beantown Rugby Club in Boston and staff coach to the USA Women’s National Team. “Richie has proven with several clubs both here and abroad that he is a quality coach, bringing a wealth of experience to our club. His excitement in taking on the challenge of competing in the ARP and his passion for coaching at the highest level, will continue to put ‘The Hounds’ at the forefront of American club rugby. Exciting times ahead,” stated Director of Rugby Fergal Hehir. Once again, Wolfhounds Rugby welcomes Coach Ashfield to the club.”
