“Ardmore, PA, Oct 21, 2015—The Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) has decided that its championship game will be played in Charlotte on Nov. 21 as part of the ACRC Bowl Series.

The ACRC Bowl Series is an annual championship tournament bringing together the best college rugby teams from around the nation. The 2015 Bowl Series takes place Nov. 20-21 at the Rugby Athletic Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Last year, the Bowl Series hosted SCRC champs South Carolina and Atlantic Coast Rugby Conference (ACRL) champions Clemson in what was dubbed the “Palmetto Bowl.” Bowl Series organizer Stephen Siano of Sevens Sports, LLC is proud to bring the SCRC conference championship game to the Bowl Series in 2015.

“The SCRC is one of the strongest conferences in the nation, and we look forward to a great championship match under the lights at the Rugby Athletic Center on Saturday, Nov. 21,” he said.

SCRC Teams in the Hunt

Competition is fierce this fall as several teams are in the running for the SCRC title. In the East Division South Carolina and Tennessee are tied for first with 5-0 records (the Volunteers play the Gamecocks in a regular-season showdown in Colombia on Halloween).

In the West Division, Alabama rules the roost with a 5-0 overall record. Teams to watch include Florida (currently #2 in the West) and Georgia (third in the East), who plays Tennessee this weekend in Knoxville.

The SCRC semifinals take place Nov. 14, followed by the championship in the high-profile setting of the Bowl Series.

World Class Rugby in Charlotte

All Bowl Series matches will be live-streamed on the Web and receive extensive coverage in social media and the URugby and ACRC Bowl Series websites, as well as other media outlets including Goff Rugby Report.

The Rugby Athletic Center is a state-of-the-art facility with concessions, modern locker rooms, lights and ample seating. Based on last year’s attendance, Siano says he expects spectators to number in the thousands.
