NOLA Gold Rugby Club signed Billy Stewart to a two-year contract extension through the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old, 6’5″, 245 lb lock played during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. San Diego Legion signed Ryan Matyas for the third consecutive year for 2020. Ryan is 28-years-old, 6’1″, and 195 lbs. He will be 29 at the end of 2019. Ryan played in 11 matches, including the MLR Championship, in 2019. Matyas is from Tucson, Arizona and graduated from Tucson High School. Mike Petri was named head coach of New York Athletic Club Rugby for the 2019 Elite Cup season. The Rugby United New York captain was named to the preliminary training squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He had an outstanding MLR season and was named to the All-MLR Second Team.
