Miami Sharks Adds Matias Caramuti
The Miami Sharks signed Matías Caramuti for the remainder of their 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old flyhalf is 5’10” and 190 lbs.
Dallas returned to the Jackals after signing with the team for 2023, however, visa delays had him playing with the Cincinnati Wolfhounds instead. He also did not play for the Jackals in 2024.
Matías is from Rio Cuarto, Argentina, and began playing rugby at six years old with Uru Cure Rugby Club and reached playing his club’s First team in 2019. That year he also traveled to Australia to train with Merewether Carlton Rugby Club.
Matías moved to the United States in 2020 to continue his education at Thomas More University in Crestview Hills< Kentucky to earn his Master’s in Business Administration. While at the university, he helped the team win the NCR Division II National Championship, was the DII scoring leader, an All-American, and the team’s co-captain. He was also named the Collegiate Rugby Shield’s Man of the Match in July 2022.
