Dallas Jackals Signs Danny Christensen

The Dallas Jackals signed Danny Christensen for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 32-year-old scrum-half (33 in May) is 5’9″, 175 lbs. and is from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Danny played 447  minutes in 12 matches, starting 5, and scored 3 tries for the Utah Warriors in 2022.

He played 110 minutes in 4 matches, starting once, and scored 2 tries in 2021. When the team needed him to perform while missing their USA and Canadian international scrumhalf, Danny stepped up and performed well.

Dan has been signed from the Selects training squad on a 4-week MLR contract after serving as Captain for the Warrior Selects during the Fall of 2020.

Dan attended Olympus High School and played rugby for the Highland Rugby Club. In 2008, the team won the high school national championship and he was named the MVP. He then attended the University of Utah where he also played rugby and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a Collegiate All-American 15s and 7s in 2014 and 2015.

According to the Utah Warriors player profile, from 2009-2011, he served a two-year service mission to Fiji for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and speaks Fijian.

Dan played in the 2019 USA Club 7s Nationals with the Park City Haggis.
