New England Free Jacks Signs Le Roux Malan

The New England Free Jacks signed Le Roux Malan for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old center (23 in March) is 6’3” and 210 lbs.

Le Roux was born in Windhoek, Namibia, and attended Paarl Boys High School outside of Cape Town, South Africa, where he played for the 1st XV. In 2018 he was signed with the Natal Sharks to a junior provincial contract and played inside center in the U19 Currie Cup. He played both center and wing while with the Sharks, making his professional debut in the 2019 Supersport Challenge, scoring a try in his debut season. He then competed with the team in the U21 Currie cup in 2019 and 2020. In addition, Le Roux was a regular with the senior Super Rugby wider squad in recent years.

In 2020 le Roux attended the University of Cape Town, playing in the Varsity Cup for the Ikey Tigers and making it to the Cup finals.

At only 22 years of age, the up and coming South African prodigy will be an incredible asset for this New England squad. A physical runner with a precise and timely pass, Le Roux is an excellent addition to the roster. Le Roux Malan adds yet another reason fans will be bubbling with excitement about the upcoming Free Jacks 2022 season.
