Austin Gilgronis added Brendan Rams for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 30-year-old hooker/prop is 6’1″ and 282 lbs.
Brendan played for the Austin Blacks to begin the 2019-2020 USA Club Rugby season. In 2019 he played 230 minutes in 11 matches for the MLR side. He carried 30 times for 133 meters and made 22 tackles.
Brendan is from South Africa and attended St. Albans School and St. Albans College in Pretoria. He played age-grade rugby with the Blue Bulls Rugby Union from the Under-16s through the Senior level. He also played with the University of Pretoria (Tuks), Pumas Under-21s senior level, and Valke senior level.
In 2014 he moved to Austin, Texas and played for the Austin Blacks and Austin Huns. He also was signed to the Denver Stampede in 2016, but a preseason knee injury caused him to miss the season. Following the 2017 year with the Huns, he returned to South Africa.
