The Houston SaberCats have added Jan Adriaan Booysen for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old back row is 6’3″ and 240 lbs.
Adriaan is from Gobabis, Namibia, a city in the eastern portion of the country. He attended Privaatskool Etnatan in Stampriet, Namibia and then studied law at the University of the Free State in South Africa.
In 2016-2017, Adriaan played rugby with the Wanderers Rugby Club and since 2017 with the Welwitschias in the Supersport Rugby Challenge.
Adriaan has seven caps for Namibia and made his debut for the National Team against Senegal on 8 July 2017, scoring a try. He played in the 2019 Rugby World Cup against South Africa and his last match was against New Zealand on 6 October.
