Rugby United New York Re-Signs Jake Feury

Rugby United New York re-signed Jake Feury for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old center is 6’0″ and 220 lbs.

Jake was a late signing with RUNY in 2019. He was included on the final regular-season match roster against the Toronto Arrows but did not see playing time. Expect him to be more active in 2020.

Jake is from Denville, New Jersey and is from a rugby family. He began playing rugby in 1998 as part of Morris Rugby’s youth program. He attended Delbarton School from 2008-2012 and played rugby for four years and football in his junior and senior years.

While playing rugby, he was the team’s captain from 2011-2012 and helped the team win the 2012 State Championship. He played representative rugby with the New Jersey All-State Rugby team, as captain and was selected to the USA Under-19s National team. Jake also played rugby sevens for the NJ Blaze 7s, a team that he founded, was the captain and coordinator, as well as for Morris Rugby. In 2011 he also became a Level 1 USA Rugby Referee.

In football, he was a 1st team All-NJAC, All-Area, All-County and 2nd team All Non-Public selection. He helped the team win the County and Conference Championship and made a 2011 State Championship appearance.

Jake attended Middlebury College from 2012-2017, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He played rugby and varsity football. In 2014 he attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and earned a Certificate in Business. In 2016 he attended Trinity College in Dublin as part of a study abroad program and played rugby while there.

In addition to playing rugby at Middlebury, he played for Atlantis Rugby at the Tobago 7s in 2013 and attended an AIG Men’s Collegiate All-American Identification Camp in 2017.

After Middlebury, he returned to play with Morris Rugby Club and was employed by the National Football League in their Junior Rotational Program. The rotation was between departments, i.e., broadcasting, club and labor finance, international marketing, and management council.

In 2018 Jake played for Rugby United New York during their exhibition season and then moved to London to play with Wimbledon RFC. He returned to RUNY for the remainder of the 2019 MLR season, played with Morris Rugby Club and expects to play a more prominent role with RUNY in 2020.
