The Toronto Arrows re-signed Shawn Windsor for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 32-year-old Stony Creek, Ontario native is 6’1″, 190 lbs, plays fullback and flyhalf, and will be 33 in December.
Shawn made 8 appearances for the Arrows in 2019, playing 529 minutes. He made 31 tackles and kicked 16 times for 634 meters.
Shawn began playing with the Stoney Creek Camels when he was 16 and has continued playing with the club since then. For the 2010-2011 season, he played for McMaster University and helped the team win the OUA Men’s Rugby title.
Shawn also spent one season in England and played for the Ontario Blues for several years. In 2014 he played for the Blues against the USA AIG Men’s Collegiate All-Americans. He played in the Canadian Rugby Championship in both 2017 and 2018 and in 2017 was named Rugby Ontario’s Senior Club Player of the Year.
He also played for the Ontario Arrows during their 2018 exhibition season at fly-half and at fullback. During the 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge, Shawn played for Canada A.
Shawn talent has been recognized in Ontario and throughout Canada. His signing with the Toronto Arrows for 2019 will give the team an experienced player and leader.
