The Seattle Seawolves re-signed Brock Staller for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old, 6’2″, and 210-pound wing scored the first try in Seawolves history and was one of the top point-scorers on the team in 2018. He was a very consistent player on offense and defense and an accurate kicker, who made teams pay when making mistakes.
During the 2019 season, he played in all 18 matches, played for 1434 minutes, scored 6 tries, and scored 223 points, which was first in the MLR.
Brock is from Vancouver, Canada and went to Kitsilano High School and Douglas College. He played amateur rugby at Meraloma’s Rugby Club and for the Castaway Wanderers. He represented Vancouver in regional play, British Columbia Bears in provincial play and has played for Canada.
Brock is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and played for the men’s varsity rugby program. For two years in a row, Brock was the leading points scorer in the British Columbia Rugby Union Men’s CDI Premiership.
Brock made his debut for the Canada Men’s National Team in the Americas Rugby Championship on February 20, 2016. Since then he has 15 caps, started 12 times, and scored 69 points. Most of those points came through his boot, although he scored one try. His last test match was against Russia at Nepean on June 16, 2018.
Brock also played for Canada A in the 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge.
