Toronto Arrows Signs Richie Asiata

The Toronto Arrows signed Richie Asiata for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old prop/hooker is 5’9″, and 254 lbs.

Richie is from Auckland, New Zealand and moved to Australia with his family in 2000 where he attended Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane.

He played rugby for Australia Schools in 2014, the QLD Reds Under-20s in 2015-2016 with the latter going undefeated in the Super Under-20s. He also was selected for the Australia Under-20s and played in the World Rugby U20s Championship in 2016.

From 2016-2019 he played for Queensland Country in the National Rugby Championship and from 2017-2018 for Easts in Queensland Premier Rugby. In 2016 he trained with the Super Rugby Reds and also played for the Reds President’s XV against the Queensland County Heelers. In 2018 he also was with the QLD Reds Wider Training Squad.

Richie lives in Logan, Australia and currently in the Canterbury wider training squad. He will join the Toronto Arrows ahead of the MLR 2020 season.
