Toronto Arrows Re-Signs Mike Smith

The Toronto Arrows have re-signed tighthead prop Michael Smith for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. During the 2019 season, he played in one match. He is 27-years-old, 6’2″, and 260 lbs.

Mike is from Hamilton, Ontario and attended St. Allan Macnab Secondary School from 2006-2011. There he played both football and rugby at No. 8.

Following his graduation from high school, he attended McMaster University on a football scholarship in 2011. He took a year off from attending McMaster and returned to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 2018.

He was a member of the McMaster University Men’s Rugby team, playing prop. In 2017, the team participated in the Canadian University Championship and he was named to the Dream team.

Mike played professionally for the Ontario Arrows during the 2018 exhibition season. He played in all matches against the Houston SaberCats, the Utah Warriors, Rugby United New York, home and away against Boston, and in September against the Glendale Raptors. Mike also played for the Ontario Blues in 2018 against the Atlantic Rock.

Mike also played club rugby for the Hamilton Hornets from 2012 to 2016, and Toronto Scottish from 2017 to the present.
