San Diego Legion Signs Nathan Sylvia Again for 2020

San Diego Legion signed tighthead prop Nathan Sylvia for a third Major League Rugby season in 2020. The 25-year-old is 6’2″ and 260 lbs.

Nathan is from Rancho Penasquitos a San Diego neighborhood. He attended Mt Carmel High School where he played football and graduated in 2012.

Nathan then attended Cal Poly where he excelled playing rugby and was named as a2016 USA Rugby Collegiate All-American Honorable Mention. He was among several D1A Rugby players to train with the ACT Brumbies in Canberra, Australia in 2016. While there, he played with Randwick Rugby Club Under-20s.

In 2018 Nathan played with San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club in the Pacific Rugby Premiership. He then joined the San Diego Legion for their inaugural Major League Rugby season and returned to the Legion for 2019, playing in 16 of the team’s 18 games. His performance during 2019 earned him another contract with the team for 2020.
