New England Free Jacks Re-Signs Simon Courcoul

The New England Free Jacks have re-signed Simon Courcoul for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old prop (24 in December) is 6’0″ and 260 lbs.

Simon played in the final Cara Cup matches for the Free Jacks in 2019 after previously playing for Austin Elite Rugby in 2019.

Simon is from Laval, France and spent the 2017-18 Fédérale 1 season with Grasse. There he was a regular starter and gained valuable professional experience.

Courcoul began playing rugby at age 14 at RC Laval and then played with Nantes. He then began playing professional rugby with the ASM Clermont Academy where he was selected to both the Under-19 and Under-20 National team. He also represented France at the Junior World Cup in New Zealand.

After his stint with the Academy, he played PRO D2 in France with Aviron Bayonnais and then with Narbonne then sought to gain increased playing time through playing Fédérale 1 with Grasse.
