San Diego Legion Re-Signs Keni Nasoqeqe

San Diego Legion re-signed Keni Nasoqeqe for the 2020 Major League Rugby team. The 26-year-old (on July 27) Fijian No. 8 is 6’4″ and 255 lbs.

Keni is from Lautoka, Fiji where rugby is a National sport, and attended Lelean Memorial School. He arrived in California prior to the Samurai Sports Pacific Rugby Premiership in 2015 and has played with Belmont Shore since then. During the 2017 season, the PRP took a hiatus and the team played in the California Cup.

In 2017 Keni won Player of the Week honors for his performance against Olympic Club. He also played for Belmont Shore in the 2018 USA Rugby Club Sevens Nationals.

Keni is a strong and explosive athlete who was an excellent addition for the San Diego Legion in 2019. He played in 13 games before an injury cut his season short. Recently, he has played with the Belmont Shore RFC Sevens team.
