The Houston SaberCats signed Diego Fortuny for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old hooker is 5’9” and 235 lbs.
Diego is from Salta, Argentina. He attended Catholic University of Salta beginning in 2015 and played with Universitario de Salta First XV.
He played with Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship since 2016 and also played with the team in the 2018 Nations Cup.
Diego was signed to the Super Rugby Jaguares team in 2018 and played in one match against the Stormers in Cape Town. He also played once for Argentina against South Africa in the Rugby Championship on August 18 that year.
Diego is a seasoned veteran and will be a welcome addition to the SaberCats in 2020.
