USA Women’s Rugby Club DII Playoffs Updated

This past weekend the USA Rugby DII Playoff picture was finalized.

In the Pacific North Final Life West won 112-0 against the Bend Lady Roughriders. In the Pacific South Final, Ventura County Lady Outlaws beat Tucson Lightning 28-18. Life West and Ventura County will now meet May 21st in the National Quarterfinals.

Thre Red River Championships were also held with Houston Athletic winning 90-22 against Oklahoma Roses in a semi-final match. Austin Valkyries beat Little Rock Stormers in the other semi-final 33-5. In the Final Austin Valkyries won 46-12 against Houston Athletic. The Austin Valkyries enter the National D1 quarterfinals, while Houston Athletic move to the DII quarterfinals to play Kansas City Jazz, the Frontier winner.

In the Frontier Championships, KC Jazz won 95-0 against Kansas State Wildcats and Boulder Babes had a narrow 25-24 win against St Louis Sabres. In the final Kansas City Jazz beat the Boulder Babes 34-5.

In the Midwest Championship, Wisconsin beat Buffalo 100-5 and Milwaukee Scylla won 36-7 against the Cincinnati Kelts in the semi-finals. The Final had Wisconsin claiming the title 47-33 against the Milwaukee Scylla. Wisconsin faces Charlotte, the South Champion in the National Quarterfinals.

In the Atlantic North, Burlington beat Portland 19-17 and Providence won 43-22 against the Hartford Wild Roses. The Final had Burlington winning 15-10 against Providence and will meet the Mid-Atlantic champion, Harrisburg Harlots in the remaining quarterfinal.

The Mid-Atlantic Championships featured Brandywine Riot winning 44-7 over York & Lancaster Thorns, while Harrisburg harlots won 35-5 over Doylestown Dragons in the other semi-final. In the Final, Harrisburg claimed the win 27-15 over Brandywine Riot.

The Western Regionals are being held in Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona May 21-22.

The Eastern Regionals are being held at Founders Field in Pittsburgh, PA, May 21-22.

The Division II playoffs conclude June 5 when Western and Eastern Region winners meet in the National Championship in Infinity Park, Glendale, Colorado.
