The Village Lions RFC announces the appointment of Brad Dufek as the Head Coach of the Women’s Sevens program.
A native of Wisconsin, Brad has been involved with the Quinnipiac University Women’s Rugby program as an assistant coach, helping to bring them to win the 2015 Inaugural NCAA National Championship.
“Brad impressed us with his clear, organized approach to the Sevens training session and how each session fits into a bigger picture of a coherent program,” said John Greally, Village Lions Director of Rugby. “He came strongly recommended by Greg McWilliams from Yale Rugby and looks to be a rising star in the coaching community in the Northeast. We are very pleased he has chosen to work with our Women’s program and look forward to him bringing this group of athletes to a higher level of performance.”
The Village Lions RFC is based in New York City, founded in 1989, with the addition of the Women’s program in 2000. The Women’s 15s is a Division 1 program in USA Rugby’s National Competitive Region 3 (Northeast). The Women’s Seven’s program is entering its first year competing in the NRU 7s (qualifier) following its 2015 Empire GU 7s Series win. The Men’s Seven’s program is now entering its third year at qualifier level in the Northeast.
