National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Press Release: April 11, 2016

Medford, NJ  April 11, 2016 – The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) is proud to announce the creation of the NSCRO/Penn Mutual Women’s 7’s Select Side. The program is made possible by Penn Mutual and their continued support in the growth of women’s rugby. The program is open to all players on current NSCRO teams as well as players on teams moving to NSCRO in the fall season.

The goals of the program are to provide players from our small schools with the opportunity to compete together at the highest level, to increase the visibility of the talented players in NSCRO, and to provide these players with another pathway to our Women’s National Teams.

The first assembly for the program will be 01 – 05 June 2016 when the team will compete in the Collegiate Rugby Championships at Talen Field (formerly PPL Park) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It’s a big first test for the program as they go up against some of the top College 7’s sides in the country. The coaches for this initial assembly will be Bryn Chivers and Jeff Noe.

We encourage coaches from all of our teams to recommend players to the NSCRO Women’s 7’s Select Side by completing the Player Recommendation Form (http://bit.ly/NSCRO-womens-7s-select-side-form). We suggest that the coach provides a link to video that best highlights the skills of the player they are recommending.

Tickets for the CRC in Philadelphia can be purchased directly through NSCRO. Please support the NSCRO Women’s 7’s Select Side by using the following link to purchase your tickets: http://bit.ly/CRC-tickets-NSCRO.

Contact Bryn Chivers at bryn.chivers@nscro.org or (773) 308-3430 if you have questions about the program or would like to discuss a player in more detail.
