On Sunday January 31, 2016 the Capital Rugby Union Selects Men’s and Women’s Rugby Sides take on the Stars XV in the Men’s third representative side match of the year. This will be the Women’s first.

In August, the Men defeated the Empire GU Rugby Selects and then lost to the USA Rugby South in December.

The Stars XV Men and Women have both played one representative 15s match against Life.

The revival of representative side rugby has been seen from Coast to Coast. It has become an excellent way that players can increase their playing in high caliber matches.

Matt Robinette, President of the Capital Rugby Union released the schedule of events below.

Practice & Match Schedule:
Friday, January 29:
Stars Practice – 9 am – 11 am
Stars Practice – 2 pm – 4 pm

Saturday, January 30:
9 am – 11 am – Stars Practice
12 pm – 2 pm – CGU Men’s practice
2 pm – 4 pm – CGU Women’s Practice
4 pm – 6 pm – Stars Practice

Sunday, January 31:
12 pm – 2 pm – Women’s game
2 pm – 4 pm – Men’s game
6 pm – hosted social for all players by the Capital Rugby Union. Location TBD.

The Union will be hosting the social and all are invited. The social will be a themed event – REVENGE OF THE NERDS! Dress appropriately!

Union coaches are encouraged to attend the practice sessions for both squads. It should be a great lesson in game prep.
