The Worcester Ladies RFC have been providing regular press releases that have been enjoyed by many who view the DJCoil Rugby Web page or on the DJCoil Rugby Facebook page. These releases have encouraged others to follow Women’s Premiership Rugby more closely.
This is especially true, as the regular season is nearing completion and playoff implications are impacted by these results.
Both Richmond Women and Saracens Women are playoff bound. What still needs to be determined is who finishes first or second. The third and fourth spots will come from the Bristol Ladies, Lichfield Ladies or the Worcester Ladies.
This week there is an off week with the last two weeks of Women’s Premiership regular season on December 13th and 20th. After 12 rounds, Richmond Women top the standings with an 11-1 record and 53 points. The Saracens Women also have an 11-1 record, but are in second with 51 points. There are two remaining playoff spots with Bristol Ladies in third place with a 8-4 record and 39 points. The fourth position is being hotly contested between Lichfield Ladies with 34 points and Worcester Ladies with 32 points. Both have 6-6 records.
The Wasps Ladies with a 4-8 record (19 points), Darlington Mowden Park Sharks 1-11 (10 points) and the Aylesford Bulls Ladies 1-11 (4 points) are out of playoff contention.

The December 13th teams played each other on October 25th with Worcester, Saracens, Lichfield and Richmond winning. The December 20th teams played each other on September 6th with Lichfield, Bristol, Saracens and Richmond winning.
Should the same teams win on December 13th, that would make the Worcester Ladies – Bristol Ladies match a key match for determining the playoffs.
There are two playoff spots left. Which two teams will it be: Bristol, Lichfield, Worcester Ladies. There will be an exciting regular season finish in the Women’s Premiership this year.
