Cal Hosts Olympic 7s Tournament
“BERKELEY – California carries an 11-0 fall 7s record into the PAC 7s Rugby Championship hosted by the Golden Bears Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8, on Witter Rugby Field. Aiming for a fourth straight conference crown, the Blue and Gold start pool play on day one against Stanford at 9 a.m. PT and continue vs. Colorado at 10:30 a.m., Oregon State at 12:20 p.m. and Utah at 3:20 p.m.
Sunday’s knockout rounds begin at 11:25 a.m. and culminate that afternoon as Pac-12 Networks carries the action live from Strawberry Canyon starting at 1 p.m. PT. The national broadcast will showcase the cup semifinals through the 3:55 p.m. championship final in the same style of the sport that returns to medal contention at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The Bears will be joined by 10 other Pac-12 member universities for a total of 33 matches over two days at the PAC 7s Rugby Championship. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Daily tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for youth ages 13-17, seniors and active military personnel; and free for all Cal students and children ages 12 and under.
