Atlantis Rugby Camp A Success In Wilmington, Delaware

Yesterday was a great day for youth rugby in Wilmington, Delaware. Atlantis Rugby held a camp to improve the rugby 7s skills of area boys and girls. There was great interest, as 66 were registered and the participant ages ranged from 14 to 21.
At this camp, was guest coach Nesse Malifa, the current Tiger Rugby Academy coach in North Carolina. Emil Signes and Biddy Boyle of Atlantis Rugby are always found instructing when Atlantis camps are held. Jack Foley the U18/20 Atlantis Boys Coach and Head Coach of Villanova Men’s Rugby is also a regular.
Mitch Vannoy, University of Delaware Women’s 7s Head Coach and David Niu, a former Wallabie and Eagle, as well as Archmere Academy Head Rugby Coach were also there. Several other coaches also assisted.
At this camp I had an opportunity to interview the coaches and hear how they contribute to the sport. I thought that you might want to listen also, as well a get a glimpse of one of the skills sessions.
The camps are also used to select players for USA and International tours. Atlantis sends many teams to the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament, Elite Men’s and Women’s sides to the Tobago 7s. They are also are at the Serevi Rugbytown 7s.
The next group to tour will be the Women’s Elite team at the Halloween 7s in the Cayman Islands. Adam Dick, University of Arizona Women’s Head Coach will guide the Atlantis Rugby Women.
