Austin Huns Release: Austin, TX (March 17, 2017).

The Austin Huns are thrilled to announce the signing of Eagle hooker Peter Malcolm, adding more experience to the Elite Squad pack.

Peter Malcolm is a native of Parkland, Florida. He was named a three-time Collegiate All-American while playing at Wheeling Jesuit University, in West Virginia. Peter was selected as a U-20 All-American and competed with the team at the Junior World Trophy in 2014, where he made a start at 8-man and won man-of-the-match against Tonga. Malcolm can play both hooker and back-row. He is a ferocious player, with the ability to cover the field on defense, has a tenacious running style that gives his team consistent go-forward ball and keeps defenders on their back foot.

Peter is experienced in both XV’s and 7s. He has 4 caps with the USA Eagles, playing hooker. He played for the Ohio Aviators in PRO Rugby as hooker and flanker. Peter also toured with the USA Falcons (USA developmental 7s team).

“As I was researching hookers in the USA, I ran across Peter. After watching some of his films, seeing him compete in America’s Rugby Championship, and meeting him in person, I knew he was the right fit for the Austin Huns. He is young, has an outgoing personality, is a great thrower and scrummager. Peter will fit the Austin Huns perfectly” said Austin Huns Head Coach Eugene Eloff.

The Austin Huns are extremely excited to Peter Malcolm join the team as it moves closer to the quest of becoming one of the top teams in the nation.
