USA & Sweden Wheelchair Rugby Meet Prior to IWRF Rio Qualifier

The USA Wheelchair Rugby team met Sweden in a six game series March 22-25 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Series was hosted by the Lakeshore Foundation.
The USA us currently second in the world, ehile Sweden is ranked sixth. The series provides an opportunity to hone their skills prior to departing for Paris, France to participate in the IWRF Rio Qualification Tournament. The USA will enter the tournament April 16-22 as favorites to win and earn a spot at the Paralympic Games in September.

After the Rio Qualification Tournament, there will be a 2016 Rio Selection Camp April 27 to Nay 1 at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama. Thirty five athletes have been invited and up to sixteen athletes will then be named to train and compete in the Paralympic Games in September.
