Canada Cup 2018 The USA Wheelchair Rugby won the 2018 Canada Cup for the sixth time beating Japan in the Gold Medal match 56-53. Australia won the Bronze beating host Canada 63-56, while 5th place went to Denmark with a 57-53 win over Sweden. USA Wheelchair Rugby Announces 2018 Training Squad USA Wheelchair Rugby held their 2018 Training Camp January 3-7 at the Lakeshore Foundation U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site in Birmingham, AL. Sixteen athletes were selected to train and compete throughout 2018. They include eight Paralympians Butler, Cohn, Fredette, Scaturro, Delagrave, Melton, Wheeler, and Aoki. Previous national team athletes include Pabon, Jackson, Kennedy, Chun, Daily, and Deller. Milstead and Torres will make their national team debut. USA Wheelchair Rugby 2018 World Championship Camp USA Wheelchair Rugby announced that 33 athletes will be attending the 2018 World Championship Team Selection Camp January 3-7, 2018.  Over 35 athletes received an invitation to attend and three of invitations were rescinded due to their legal status within the USQRA. The Selection Committee also received three petitions for an invitation and all were granted. The team has traveled to Japan for the Japan Para Wheelchair Rugby Championship May 25th-28th.  These tournaments are necessary for the team to prepare for the Americas Zonals in Paraguay September 3-10, which is a qualifier for the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation World’s.
