Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

San Diego Legion & Anthony Salaber Retraction: New information has surfaced that Anthony Salaber will not be joining the San Diego Legion or any other Major League Rugby team in 2019. He enjoyed his MLR experience in 2018 but has applied to Law School in Sacramento for 2019. Utah Warriors & Angus Maclellan The Utah Warriors will have USA Eagles prop Angus Maclellan back with the team for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Maclellan is 26 years old, 6’1″ tall, and weighs 255 pounds. Maclellan is from Empire, Michigan and began playing rugby in high school with the Traverse City Alliance. Utah Warriors & Matt Jensen The Utah Warriors will have Matt Jensen back for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Matt is 26 years old, 6’8″ and 260 pounds. Jensen is from Scranton, Pennsylvania, but spent time living in Utah and Wyoming. Houston SabeCats & Neil Kelly The Houston SaberCats have signed Neil Kelly Defense Coach for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 56-year-old Kelly is from Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Kelly has an impressive rugby resume as a rugby league player and rugby league and union coach. As a rugby league player, he was a loose forward and a hooker. He played for the Dewsbury Rams from 1984-1986 and again from 1989-1991.
