Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

Rugby United New York will have their second pre-season match this Saturday, December 15 against the Capital Rugby Union Selects. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM EST at Iona College’s Mazzella Field. The Toronto Arrows signed Tom Dolezel for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Tom is from London, Ontario and is a Canadian international at prop. He is 34-years-old, 6’4″, and 275 pounds. Tom attended Western University from 2003-2007, graduating with a BMOS in Business Administration and Management. The Toronto Arrows signed Andrew Quattrin for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Andrew is 22-years-old, 6’0″, 250 pounds and is from Holland Landing, Ontario. Quattrin has played rugby at Wilfrid Laurier University and was the captain of the team. He played for the team from 2014-2018 and was a four-time OUA Men’s Rugby All-Star and the first rugby player ever to be named OUA MVP. Fets is 33-years-old, 6’0, and 209 pounds and plays either wing or center. Austin Elite Rugby & Dominique Bailey Austin Elite Rugby has signed Dominique Bailey for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old back row is 6’1″ and 205 pounds.
