Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

They won their opening match 32-24 two weeks ago against Austin Elite Rugby and lost 33-17 to the Houston SaberCats on Saturday, April 7 at Torero Stadium in San Diego. The team will begin their regular Major League Rugby season against the Seattle Seawolves on Sunday, April 22 at 5 pm PDT at Starfire Stadium. Austin Elite Rugby vs. New Orleans Gold Rugby The Austin Elite Rugby Club met the New Orleans Gold Rugby Club in the concluding Major League Rugby pre-season match for both teams on April 7 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. NOLA Gold left with a 38-10 win and went 3-2-1 in the pre-season. Although Austin Elite Rugby was 0-3 during the pre-season, the improvement was evident. Boston Mystic River & Rugby United New York The March 24th match between Boston Mystic River and Rugby United New York took place at Harvard University. Although Rugby United New York swept the series, the match was a huge improvement over the 50-0 win on March 17.
